Agents from the Local Police of Íllora yesterday found a refrigerated truck that had been abandoned with its doors open in a place far from the town centre. It was empty. Moments later, the patrolmen confirmed that it had been stolen. Apparently, the theft had occurred two days earlier in the car park of the company that owned the vehicle. While it was missing, the car was used by the thieves to commit another crime.
On Tuesday morning, the truck parked outside a motorcycle dealership located in an industrial estate in the capital of Granada. According to sources consulted by IDEAL, five hooded individuals got out and approached the shop window. They also had their hands gloved so as not to leave fingerprints. They then smashed the glass and sneaked into the shop. They moved frantically. The shop had security cameras and the assailants knew they were being recorded. In this sense, they were aware that they had to act quickly to avoid being caught red-handed by law enforcement.
Within a few minutes, they seized several high-powered motorcycles. The exact number was not disclosed, sources familiar with the details of the case told this newspaper. The thieves loaded the loot into the refrigerated truck and disappeared into the night.
Forty-eight hours later, the vehicle was located in Íllora, forty kilometres from the capital of Granada.
